The first of four days of celebrations to mark the Platinum Jubilee begins with Trooping the Colour on Horse Guards Parade, a military show that promises to be special to mark Queen Elizabeth II's birthday. During the parade there will be a Royal Gun Salute. Once the parade has ended and the Royal Procession has returned to Buckingham Palace, members of the royal family will make an appearance on the balcony to watch a special flypast.

More than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians will come together in the traditional Parade. Beginning at Buckingham Palace, the Parade will move down The Mall to Horse Guard’s Parade, joined by members of the Royal Family on horseback and in carriages. The Parade will close with the traditional RAF fly-past, watched by The Queen and members of the Royal Family from the Buckingham Palace balcony.
