German foreign minister Annalena Baerbock is due to outline the framework for a new German national security strategy. Baerbock is set to speak at Germany's foreign office, from which you're seeing live pictures. Russia's invasion of Ukraine which began of Fenruary 24th has upended policy across Europe. Germany has sent weapons and aid to Ukraine and is boosting its defense spending by a massive 100 billion euros this year in response to Russia's attack. Germany has also pledged to spend 2 percent of its budget on defense, a step long demanded by the country's NATO allies.
