President Joe Biden said at a news conference Thursday that he had full confidence in Vice President Kamala Harris' ability to be president.
The news conference, marking the end of the NATO summit in Washington, came as some Democrats questioned Biden's fitness to serve after a stumbling June debate performance.
He repeatedly reiterated his intention to stay in the 2024 race for the White House throughout Thursday's news conference. In response to a question about whether Harris could be ready to serve, Biden touted her record on reproductive rights and her experience as a prosecutor and U.S. senator.
"I wouldn't have picked her unless I thought she was qualified to president," Biden said. "From the very beginning, I made no bones about that."
