While football is life, so is the importance of caring for oneself-- the actors from the hit show "Ted Lasso" took part in Monday's White House news briefing to promote that point and drive home the necessity of mental health care and to encourage people across American to check in on their family, friends, coworkers and others.

“No matter who you are, no matter where you live, no matter who you voted for, we all probably, I assume, we all know someone who has, or have been that someone ourselves actually, that’s struggled, that’s felt isolated, that’s felt anxious, that has felt alone,” Jason Sudeikis, who plays the title character — an American football coach who moves to London to manage a soccer team, told reporters at the White House. “It’s actually one of the many things, believe it or not, that we all have in common as human beings. That means it’s something that we can all, you know, and should, talk about with one another when we’re feeling that way or when we recognize that in someone feeling that way.”

Sudeikis, standing next to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and fellow "Ted Lasso" castmates Hannah Waddingham (who plays "Rebecca Welton"), Brett Goldstein ("Roy Kent"), Brendan Hunt ("Coach Beard") and Toheeb Jimoh ("Sam Obisanya") at the podium, were at the White House to meet with President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden about mental health — a topic that the Apple TV+ show, now in its third season, tackles.

Additional "Ted Lasso" actors who made an appearance in the briefing room Monday were Phil Dunster ("Jamie Tartt"), Jeremy Swift ("Higgins"), Cristo Fernández ("Dani Rojas") and James Lance ("Trent Crimm").
