WATCH: How a formerly incarcerated DC man became a community teacher and mentor

A Vera Institute study has shown that providing incarcerated people access to high quality education programs while in prison results in safer communities and reduced taxpayer costs. Michael Woody’s journey is one example of the impact that prison education programs can have. One such program is the Georgetown University Prisons and Justice Initiative.
