If Rep. Liz Cheney were a voter in Ohio, she would vote for Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan instead of her fellow Republican J.D. Vance the vice chair of the House Jan 6. committee said on Tuesday.

"I would not vote for J.D. Vance" in Ohio's U.S. Senate race, she said during a conversation with Judy Woodruff in Cleveland hosted by Ideastream Public Media.

Woodruff followed up: "If you were a Buckeye State voter, you'd be voting for Tim Ryan," your Democratic colleague in the House?

"I would," Cheney answered.

Vance, an author and venture capitalist who has received the endorsement of former President Donald Trump and has questioned the results of the 2020 election, is running against Ryan — who has represented Youngstown, Warren and parts of Akron in the House since 2003 — for the seat being vacated by Sen. Rob Portman.
