There's usually tight security here in the run-up to a Presidential inauguration, but this time it is tighter than ever thanks to the deadly siege of Capitol Hill 11 days ago. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)

In state capitals across the US, law enforcement officers are on high alert for protests promised for today by Donald Trump's supporters.

So far, no demonstrations have materialised but a man from the state of Virginia was arrested at a roadblock here in DC with a handgun and 500 rounds of ammunition.
