Hundreds of firefighters are trying to stem the tide of the Washburn Wildfire in Yosemite National Park, but high winds are fueling the rapid growth of the flames...and threatening some of the oldest trees in the world.
The trees, some 500 mature giant sequoias, were unable to evacuate along with the 1,600 people — almost all tourists — evacuated from the nearby community of Wawona, Calif., and its campground.
Jennifer Johnson has more on this and many more fires threatening the region.
