An Indian district has witnessed a horrific case of gang warfare, with a bizarre twist. The ongoing feud in Maharashtra’s Beed district, between monkeys and dogs, has culminated in an attack which saw a gang of monkeys throw as many as 250 dogs to their deaths from rooftops.

The killings are thought to have been a revenge attack, after a pack of dogs killed one of the monkeys’ infants. This led to the enraged monkeys dragging hundreds of puppies to the tops of buildings and trees, and throwing them off. According to local media, there is barely a single puppy left in the area.

The monkeys are also said to be turning on humans – multiple videos show schoolchildren having to flee the furious primates. This has led to an increasing sense of panic in the area, where locals are hoping for official assistance.
