The ruling BJP-led alliance in Assam is leading in 77 of the state's 126 assembly constituencies and looks set to form the government for the second consecutive term. Assam minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said it is a victory of development over appeasement. "The people have chosen development... and decisively voted for the BJP," he said.
