At a time when India has approved two coronavirus vaccines for emergency use, a controversy has broken out after several critics said the approvals were rushed. NDTV's Uma Sudhir spoke to Dr Rakesh Mishra, director of the Hyderabad-based Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), who says, "We must trust regulatory body that gave emergency use approval to Covid vaccines." He points out that both the firms - that are developing Covishield and Covaxin - are powerhouses for vaccines with proven track record, adding that the controversy is "unfortunate and unnecessary".
