A Halifax woman is just back from a vacation to Cuba that ended up being longer than planned after testing positive for COVID-19 a day before her flight home. She wants other travellers to be prepared after she had to spend days in a quarantine hotel in Varadero.

“No, I will never go back. And I loved Cuba. I’ve been there 12, 13 times and it’s just put me off completely,” Jillian White told Global News.

White and her friend travelled together. The day before they were supposed to return home, White tested positive for COVID-19 on a PCR test. Her friend did not.
