Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached "sinking town" Joshimath to assess the situation following the collapse of a temple and several houses and ordered the immediate evacuation of around 600 families. NDTV has accessed several letters which were written by the residents of Joshimath to the Chief Minister of Uttrakhand Pushkar Dhami, informing him about the cracks and landslides due to blasts under NTPC tunnels. These letters were written in December 2022 informing the administration about the initial cracks.
