U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak highlighted the strength of their alliance and their common ground on support for Ukraine as they met for the first time on Saturday at the Munich Security Conference.

Earlier, Harris condemned Russia's "crimes against humanity" in their war with Ukraine, and committed to supporting Ukraine for "as long as it takes."

"In the case of Russia’s actions in Ukraine, we have examined the evidence, we know the legal standards, and there is no doubt: These are crimes against humanity," she said.

"The United States has formally determined that Russia has committed crimes against humanity. And I say to all those who have perpetrated these crimes and to their superiors who are complicit in those crimes, you will be held to account, the vice-president stated.
