The US Supreme Court has refused to block a law banning abortion after six weeks in Texas, making it the state with the most restrictive abortion laws in the country.
The judges voted 5-4 on Thursday blocking all appeals that stop the law being enforced.
Republican Governor Greg Abbott had signed the law into effect in May which prohibits abortions once medics can detect a heartbeat.
