The US Central Command said on Tuesday Bagram was the seventh and final military base turned over to Afghan control.
The Biden administration is defending the US military withdrawal from Afghanistan, even as advancing Taliban fighters claim more territory.
Washington says it is a withdrawal and not a retreat, and is pledging to support the Afghan government from a distance.
The Taliban have stepped up their campaign before the full withdrawal of US forces.
