US migration: Border controls hurt Central American families

US immigration policies have led to tighter border controls across Central America.
But that does not seem to be discouraging those who are determined to make the journey.
And despite efforts by regional governments to curb migration, there is no indication that migrant numbers are declining.
In Guatemala, citizens cite extreme poverty and a lack of opportunity as the overwhelming reasons for leaving the country.
But experts argue that the Guatemalan government is actually benefitting from migration.
