US election: Why 'election stress disorder' is significantly higher this year

The anxiety Americans are feeling around the US presidential election is very evident but Canadians are also feeling anxious. According to a survey by the Harris Poll done on behalf of the American Psychological Association, 68 per cent of American adults have found the 2020 U.S. presidential election to be a significant source of stress in their lives, compared to 52 per cent in 2016. Global’s Sharmeen Somani looks into why we’re so worked up about who becomes president south of the border.​
