U.S. president-elect Joe Biden responded to President Donald Trump's recent comments Friday and subsequent tweet this weekend that appeared to acknowledge Biden's election win, before backtracking and claiming he won, saying the move was "Trumpianism" and no change to his "modus operandi."

He said in the meantime he was still speaking with world leaders and the Pope, conversations which he said were taking place with "some degree of enthusiasm."

Biden went on to say that Trump's actions delaying a transition of power was "more embarrassing for the country than debilitating for my ability to get started." He said they were working to ensure they were ready to get started on day one, despite the delays by the Trump administration, including preparing his team and his list of cabinet members, though added he was hopeful Trump would be "mildly more enlightened" before Jan. 20.
