U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Wednesday they would continue to work together with Egypt to reinforce a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Blinken was in Cairo, Egypt as part of his Middle East tour to shore up support for the ceasefire. He met with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. He also visited Jordan's King Abdullah II in Amman as part of the last leg of the tour.
He said he also had a lengthy discussion with al-Sisi about Cairo's human rights record and has raised the issue of Americans who have been detained in Egypt.
