The EU Commission President is one of the most powerful women in the world but that didn't prevent a high-level diplomatic snub that many are putting down to sexism.

Ursula von der Leyen was speechless after being left without a chair in a meeting with Turkey's President Erdogan and the EU Council President Charles Michel.

As the two man took their seats, the German former Defence Minister eventually took a nearby spot on a sofa.
