The Kremlin has described an explosion at a cafe in St Petersburg, in which an influential pro-war blogger was killed, as a terrorist act. Vladlen Tatarsky - a prominent supporter of Vladimir Putin and the invasion of Ukraine - was primarily known for his videos about the war on his Telegram channel. A murder investigation is now underway into the blast as speculation grows in Russia over who may be behind it.
DW Russia analyst Roman Goncharenko explains why authorities believe Ukraine was behind the killing of the blogger - who was born in Ukraine's Donbas and apparently joined Russian-backed pro-separatist forces there in 2014.
