There was speculation about Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath contesting from Ayodhya, Gorakhpur or Mathura. Now it is clear that BJP Central Election Committee has decided his name to contest from Gorakhpur. Yogi Adityanath has been a five-time MP from Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat.
