UNSC emergency meeting: Iran urges UN condemnation of consulate building attack in Syria

Members of the United Nations Security Council are calling for de-escalation and accountability, following an Israeli air strike on the Iranian consulate building in Syria, which killed 14 people.
Iran's UN ambassador condemns Israel's attacks in Syria, calling them ‘terrorist’ acts violating international law.
Iran told the council it reserves the right to take a decisive response. Something many on the council were warning against - but know could very well be likely.

In the hours leading up to the meeting, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on all concerned to exercise utmost restraint, and avoid further escalation.
