Members of the United Nations Security Council are calling for de-escalation and accountability, following an Israeli air strike on the Iranian consulate building in Syria, which killed 14 people.

In the hours leading up to the meeting, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on all concerned to exercise utmost restraint, and avoid further escalation.
