UNRWA accusing Israel of blocking aid shipment into Gaza

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) says an estimated 25 per cent of families in Gaza are facing catastrophic hunger.

And UNRWA is accusing Israel of blocking a convoy of food donated by Turkey from entering Gaza – making the situation even worse.

It says the shipment has been sitting for weeks in the Israeli port city of Ashdod.

It comes as Israel has said it has uncovered Hamas tunnels under the now-abandoned headquarters of the aid agency, and after explosive allegations by Israel that some of UNRWA’s staff participated in the Oct. 7 attacks.
