UN urges Taliban not to erase women from public life

The United Nations highest-ranking female official says what is happening in Afghanistan is a grave crisis for women's rights and a wake-up call for the international community.
The Taliban has barred women from education and much of public life.
Those restrictions were top of the agenda for UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, who has just wrapped up a four-day visit to Afghanistan.
She says much remains to be achieved.
