Matilda Bogden, the head of the United Nations human rights team in Ukraine, said Friday that they are receiving increasing information on mass graves in the besieged city of Mariupol, including one that they estimate holds 200 bodies.
Bogden says the death toll in cities and towns across Ukraine is increasing, with at least 1,035 people killed and at least 1,650 injured since Russia began its attack on Feb. 24.
“We do not yet have the full picture of locations that have seen intense fighting,” she cautioned.
She said the UN has documented 22 “enforced disappearances” or arbitrary arrests of local officials.
