United Nations chief, Antonio Guterres, has made a renewed call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza after a visit to the Rafah border crossing.

The call comes as the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza said 19 people waiting for aid were killed by Israeli forces.

Israel has denied firing on the crowd.

Mr Guterres said it is "time to silence the guns" and stop the "nightmare", as he described the ongoing loss of life in Gaza as a moral outrage.

He called on Israel to give total access to humanitarian goods throughout the territory.

The call comes as arrests were made at a protest in Tel Aviv during a rally calling for a deal to be reached so hostages can be released by Hamas.

It is thought there are around 130 hostages remaining in the Gaza strip. Subscribe here: http://bit.ly/1rbfUog
