Fears that Russia could severely limit energy supplies to Germany over the winter have sent gas prices soaring.

Europe receives a third of its gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline from Russia.

But that was disrupted last month by what Moscow said was maintenance work - it has not yet returned to pre-war levels, raising fears Russia is using gas as leverage to get concessions from the West in Ukraine.
