Former UK Permanent Representative to NATO Adam Thompson says we could see Finland and Sweden be accepted into NATO quickly.

He said "with the US Senate very clearly behind the case for Swedish and Finnish membership, most NATO countries will ratify - we could see them in NATO as soon as autumn."

A decision by the two countries is imminent on whether they will seek membership of the defensive pact.
