After seven months of bitter fighting, the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut looks likely to finally fall to Russian forces in the coming days.

Civilians have been attempting to flee on foot, as mercenary fighters from the Wagner Group encircle the city.

The UK Ministry of Defence has warned that Ukraine's troops were under "increasingly severe pressure" in the city.
