DW on Thursday spoke to European Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarcic, who has been visiting Kyiv this week. The discussion focused in particular on non-military aid for Ukraine and ways European assistance has tried to keep other parts of the country besides the military running.
Asked about reports of corruption in some cases invovling western aid, Lenarcic said that Ukraine's Interior Minister Oleksandr Klymenko had told him Kyiv would undertake an audit. He said the EU did not have any "credible indication" of EU civil protection funds being misused.
