Ukraine says it shot down 6 Russian balloons spotted over Kyiv

Six Russian balloons were spotted over Kyiv and most were shot down after being engaged by air defences, the Ukrainian capital's military administration said on Wednesday.

It said the balloon may have been carrying corner reflectors and reconnaissance equipment.

"The enemy wants us to use our force and means, our air defence missiles against those balloons and their reflectors," Ukrainian air force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat told Ukrainian television.

Russia did not immediately comment on the reports of balloons over Kyiv.
