India has made its strongest statement yet on the Ukraine-Russia war, referring to the massacre in Bucha and calling for an independent probe. All week, the world has seen horrifying images of hundreds of bodies in the Ukrainian town with the local authorities claiming this was a "mass murder by Russian forces". Russia has denied this, calling the bodies a "stage managed event" by Ukraine for the Western press. But the fact is that India, which has been sitting on the fence so far, took a firmer stand at the UN last night, though it stopped short of naming Russia.
