Ukraine is denying Russian claims that its troops have captured the key salt-mining town of Soledar.

If true, it is the first battlefield victory for the Kremlin in months. It would also give Russia a new staging point for the bigger battle over the Donbass region in the east.

As Crystal Goomansingh reports, it’s also the second time this week the Russians have made the bold claim.
