Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a surprise appearance at 64th Annual Grammy Awards in Sunday, urging support for his country and asking the industry's top artists to "fill the silence" brought by war with music.
Zelenskyy delivered his pre-taped message ahead of a performance from John Legend of the song "Free," joined by Ukrainian singer Mika Newton, musician Siuzanna Iglidan and poet Lyuba Yakimchuk.
The four main Grammys prizes went to Jon Batiste - best album; Olivia Rodrigo - best new artist; and Silk Sonic - song of the year and record of the year. Other winners included Lady Gaga, Doja Cat and Foo Fighters, who picked up three following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins.
