British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Monday that people should be “utterly vigilant” after an explosion on Sunday injured a taxi driver and killed a passenger – whom police believe brought an explosive device into the vehicle.
Police said they believe they know the identity of the passenger who was killed in the blast, but said they could not disclose it.
The explosion took place outside the Liverpool Women’s Hospital, just before a Remembrance Day service at the nearby Liverpool Cathedral.
The Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) has raised the U.K.’s threat level to “severe,” which means it deems an attack “highly likely.”
