Average petrol prices in the UK have hit a record high of 173.02p a litre, figures show, after the EU banned 75% of Russian oil imports.

RAC fuel spokesperson Simon Williams said, “The EU’s decision to ban the majority of Russian oil imports will cause the barrel to higher still, spelling yet more misery for fuel prices in the UK.”
He added that average price of a litre of unleaded petrol will “likely hit 185p.”
