Today in the U.K. another daily record for COVID-19 cases with more than 129,000. It comes as Scotland and other U.K. nations tighten restrictions to try and reduce the spread of Omicron, but not in England. Prime Minister Boris Johnson says no rules will change before the new year.

As of Sunday, around one in 10 people in London, England were likely infected with COVID-19, according to new official estimates that underlined the relentless advance of the Omicron variant.
