Rev. Al Sharpton and Ben Crump, the lawyer for the family of Tyre Nichols, spoke following the 29-year-old's funeral and called for quicker action on police reform after five officers in Memphis, Tennessee were charged with murder in the January death of the Black man.

Crump spoke about various cases of Black men and women having been killed by police, asking how many videos of such incidents need to be shown "before we say we have a problem." He said it's not about the race of the officer involved, but the culture of policing.

"It's the institutionalized police culture that says it is acceptable to engage in excessive use of force on Black and brown citizens," he said. "And we can show you exhibit after exhibit after exhibit."
Sharpton stressed that "all roads lead to legislation" and he, other activists and politicians would not stop until police reform happens, adding "this is not the end of a funeral, but the beginning of a movement around legislation."
