Former U.S. vice-president Mike Pence appeared Friday before a grand jury investigating former president Donald Trump's role in efforts to overturn the 2020 election, news outlets reported on Thursday, citing unidentified sources. Pence was inside the courthouse for more than seven hours, according to ABC and NBC News.

Security was beefed up more than usual at the federal courthouse in Washington, D.C. Multiple black SUVs with black-tinted windows were seen entering the courthouse parking garage, allegedly carrying Pence.

Meanwhile, Michael Cohen, the former fixer for Trump, could be seen entering a midtown Manhattan office building on Friday before sitting for a deposition involving his former boss in a separate legal matter.

Plus, E. Jean Carroll, a writer who has accused Trump of raping her in the mid-1990s, spoke up about claims of not screaming during a cross-examination in yet another legal matter against the former president on Thursday.
