Former U.S. president Donald Trump is requesting a "special master" look at the classified documents the FBI seized from his Mar-a-Lago home.
In their court filing late Wednesday, Trump's lawyers claimed the FBI search was "unnecessary and legally unsupported," adding the U.S. Department of Justice would "impugn, leak and publicize" the material, and that "the notion that presidential records would contain sensitive information should never have been cause for alarm."
Neetu Garcha explains what a special master is, and why some lawmakers say such a move could put lives at risk.
