Trump picks JD Vance as VP running mate

All eyes in the political world are on Milwaukee, Wisc., this week, as Republicans formally nominated Donald Trump to the top of their presidential ticket on Monday.

After a shooting at a Pennsylvania campaign rally on Saturday, Trump is now saying the show will go on despite the attempt on his life over the weekend. The shocking event has led to an increased security detail and a push for an investigation into the U.S. Secret Service.

And now, Trump has announced that Ohio lawmaker J.D. Vance, a junior senator with no executive experience, has been tapped as Trump’s vice presidential running mate. Despite once being a staunch Trump critic, Vance has since adopted Trump’s populist agenda — and it's a question as to whether the 39 year old will be seen as a unifier.
