In the US, both incumbent President Trump and his Democratic rival Joe Biden have been rallying support in battleground states as the date for the presidential election nears.
Coronavirus cases hit an all-time high on Friday but Trump continues to insist the nation is “turning a corner”.
Biden has taken a different tone, acknowledging the challenges the country faces and promising to work to address them.
