An exclusive Ontario boys’ camp and its director are being sued by a former student and a staff member alleging that the director sexually assaulted the two individuals and that the camp failed to act to protect either person.

David Latimer, age 61, has been the director of Camp Kilkoo since 1985, according to the Kilcoo website.

The two lawsuits, filed July 28 in Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Bracebridge, seek $5.5 million in damages.

The allegations have not been proven in court.

Seán O’Shea reports on the allegations and the camp’s response.
