Elections to choose the next President of India will be held on July 18, the Election Commission announced today. The counting, if there is a need, will be held on July 21. The new President will take oath on July 25, the Commission said. Days after India faced an unprecedented diplomatcic backlash over comments made by BJP spokespersons, the Delhi police filed an FIR today against 32 people for hate speeches.The elections to fill the vacant seats of Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Karnataka and Haryana will be held on June 10. All the parties are in full swing to keep their MLAs together ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections in order to thwart any attempt of horse-trading by the Opposition.
