The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) officially wraps up on Sunday, amid a turbulent period of actor and writer strikes.

Film critic Victor Stiff recaps some standout moments from this year’s event, reflecting on movies that stood out to him as well as audiences.

“This year was pretty solid but it was a little less spectacular. It’s not just that the stars couldn’t be there, we didn’t get some of the prestige films that went to some of the other festivals,” Stiff said.
