Crowds have entered parliament buildings in Nairobi, during protests against proposed tax rises.
Local media are reporting a number of people have been shot and dozens other have been arrested.
MPs have approved the measures proposed by the government of President William Ruto.
Opponents say the proposals will further increase the cost of living.
But Ruto says the rises are necessary to increase revenue and reduce borrowing.
