"They turn us into mutants:" Anti-vaccine protesters block traffic in Kyiv, Ukraine

Several hundred anti-vaccine protesters blocked traffic on Wednesday in the centre of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, demanding an end to COVID-19 restrictions and mandatory vaccinations, which the government implemented to curb record-high rates of new infections.

Protesters held up posters with messages such as "Say no to COVID passports," "Protect our children" and "Say no to COVID genocide."

Only vaccinated people or those with negative COVID-19 test results are allowed into restaurants, gyms and on public transport, while vaccination has become mandatory for some state workers.

"They turn us into mutants, they inject microchips in us. They want to turn us into robots," One protester said.
