The Sages: Dr. Willy Mutunga, Former Chief Justice of Kenya (2011 - 2016).
A radical intellectual and activist, he has kept his commitments to the true liberation of Kenya even to this day. He has recently challenged the constitutionality of Ruto's decision to send Kenyan policemen to Haiti. Willy Mutunga was one of the group of young academics at the University of Nairobi, along with Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Micere Mugo, Abdlatif Abdalla, Anyang' Nyongo' and so on, who fought the Moi/Kenyatta dictatorship to a standstill. He was thrown into jail and persecuted in many ways as a result.
